Ciera MacKenzie: Lost and Found

I thought I would use this space to tell you a little about me. I am a young up and coming country singer song/writer. I live in Cache, Oklahoma. My mother is a Field Artillery Officer in the Army, so I am what is known as an Army Brat. I have always loved music. I have been singing as long as I can remember. I started making up songs when I was really little, and started writing songs when I was eight. I play bass guitar in the school band, electric, and acoustic guitar.

How I got started:
In 2013 I was taking guitar lessons and each year the music education center holds a showcase. I performed a song and was asked by Dave Wilson, the owner and producer of Black Lab Studios if I would like to record a CD, and if I had any of my own songs. I told him I had a whole notebook full. Several months later we where in the studio recording Thoughts From a Hay Bale. I had such a great time recording this CD. I couldn’t have done it without Dave Wilson, Hannah Huffine, and of course my Mom.

Armed & Ready!
Armed & Ready is my motto. It means so much to me. It reminds me that I need to be armed with knowledge, manners, religion, pride, patriotism, and confidence. It reminds me that I need to be ready. Ready for school, performances, and the future. I have been surrounded by patriotism my entire life. I love my country and I love those that defend it. Not only do they defend us, they defend our rights. Without our rights I wouldn’t be able to write and sing the songs that I do. I am very thankful for all the brave men and women that defend this great nation.

One of the things that I really want to do is become a role model for kids like me. So many of the child stars that I looked up to and admired have fallen. I can promise that will never be me. I have such a great support group. My family! I want to be an example for others children to follow.
